Himalayan Travel Mart 2017— Bringing Travel Professionals Together

Features Issue 187 Jun, 2017

The Nepal Chapter of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) has organized the Himalayan Travel Mart 2017 in association with PATA International, Nepal Tourism Board, and a host of other partners. The event will be hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, and participants will be attending from a number of countries —Nepal of course, but also India, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Pakistan, New Zealand, and Russia, as well as countries from Europe and North and South America. The Himalayan Travel Mart will run from June 1-4, 2017.

As part of the event, there’s also the International Travel Bloggers and Media Conference (ITBMC), from May 23 to June 1, 2017, promoting Nepal as a “Must Visit Destination.” Those attending the event include international travel bloggers, media and photo journalists, and a dynamic line up of national and international thought leaders from across the world. After they arrive, the visiting media and travel bloggers will choose between two travel packages—Wildlife or Adventure—to get a small taste of some of what Nepal has to offer in terms of travel, experience, adventure, and diversity. After they return from their respective tours, the delegates will have the opportunity to share their experiences at the ITBM Conference on June 1, 2017, at Park Village Hotel & Resort in Buddhanilkantha, Kathmandu. This promises to be a venue for sharing knowledge, experiences, and learning.

This will be followed by the HTM conference, which will be held on June 2, 2017, at the Soaltee Crowne Plaza, with distinguished speakers who will be speaking about their experiences related to tourism, innovative and digital marketing, aviation, hospitality, and much more. The speakers currently slated to speak are Dr. Mario Hardy, Daniel Levine, Damian Cook, David Lim, and Matt Gibson. It will be fascinating to hear their reactions to Nepal, as well as the presentations on their various areas of expertise and knowledge.
The Himalayan Travel Mart will conclude with a buyers and sellers meet on June 3-4, also being held at Soaltee Crown Plaza.

You can get more information about the speakers and details of the entire event, including bookings, at:  http://htmnepal.com. These are events we need more of, both to share and learn from each other, and to promote Nepal more strongly as a tourism destination throughout the world. Working together, it is certain to be a success!
