The duo were awarded by the Nepal Centre of the International Theatre Institute ITI/UNESCO for their invaluable contribution to theatre in Nepal.
“Charandas: The Honest Thief” opens in the first week of May at the Naga Theater. This Rajasthani folktale of an honest thief - retold in a modern dramatic concept aims to expose the spirit of our times. It highlights with humor, the disorder in our human behavior, dictated by the politics of exploitation and the morality of greed. At the same time, the play is a celebration of the people and their desire for
justice, purity and truth – spirituality. Always remembering a healthy dose of self-critique and laughter - the essence of ultimate truth.
